Mama wrote down on my genealogy paperwork that Aunt Dude died in 1988. So that would fit in the timeline of the 1986 anniversary picnic.

I tried a couple of times to send him and Leah an invite to join ning and I haven't heard from either. I'm hoping Patrick is attempting the same. I would bet Travis has some pictures he could upload that all of us could enjoy.

I am hoping to have links at every person's node that can link to the photos here and everyone can add links to their images, blogs, videos, etc. in other places on the web too. I can link to your John's family ancestry Ning in his node. Just send me the web addy.

There are lots of holes in the family tree. Would you mind visiting me in my online classroom so I can fill in the holes? We can talk live if you have a mic or you can use the text chat feature. You will be able to see where I am pointing on the family tree diagram and hear my questions. Then I can fill in the gaps with the answers. If you are willing, just let me know and we can set up a time to meet online.

My mom told me that she named me after the movie "Tammy" with Debbie Reynolds. I finally happened to catch the show when I was in my early twenties. I think my jaw was on the ground the whole time. LOL. I was in a stage of wanting to be more sophisticated not 'hillbilly'. It was enough to put me over the edge to a name change. "Tamara" sounded so much more sophisticated than "Tammy". Obviously, I eventually outgrew the need to be sophisticated and to just be content to just be me. I still have a few paintings with the Tamara signature. I made the 'T' look like a palm tree since "Tamara" means palm tree in Hebrew.

So, I understand the "Jon" thing completely.

One tip ... set up your forum categories early. It is really easy to mess up if you add them after the first few and end up losing the ones already posted when you make more than one forum category. I learned the hard way. Also, if you make your Ning group private you cannot change it public and if you make it public you cannot change it to private. They say they may change that in the furure because a lot of people set up their groups thinking they could change it later.
